What an inspection covers

Each inspection covers the portion of the electrical system identified in the scope of inspection on the application and certificate. The inspector examines work that is installed, visible, and accessible at the time of inspection and evaluates it for compliance with the National Electrical Code, the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, applicable local codes, and, for service connections, the serving utility's specifications, as in effect on the inspection date.

Wiring and equipment outside the stated scope, or concealed or not exposed for examination, are not part of the inspection and are not covered by the certificate. The certificate reflects conditions observed on the inspection date.

After you reach out

  1. We call you back to go over the job and set a time.
  2. The inspection covers the work listed on your application.
  3. Approved service inspections are reported to the utility right after the inspection.
  4. If anything needs correcting, it's listed in writing for you and the local code office. Once it's fixed and the application is satisfied, the final certificate goes to both.

About us

Pomerville Electrical Compliance LLC is an independent electrical inspection agency based in Carthage, New York, owned and run by Mark A. Pomerville.

Before inspecting, Mark spent twenty years in the field as an IBEW journeyman electrician. Every inspection is done by someone who knows how the work gets installed, and what it takes to get a job passed and powered up.

We inspect residential, commercial, and industrial work for electricians, contractors, and property owners in Jefferson County and nearby parts of Lewis, St. Lawrence, and Oswego counties.
