The information on this site describes our services and gives general information about electrical codes and utility requirements. It is not code advice for a particular installation, and it is not an approval of any work. Inspection results, approvals, and certificates are issued only through an inspection, and only for the scope described on the application.

Codes and utility requirements change. Before relying on a requirement, confirm the edition in effect with the local code enforcement office and your electric utility.

What we collect

When you send a request through this site, we collect what you enter on the form:

• Your name, role, company, phone number, and email address
• The job site address and town, and the type of property and work
• The electric utility and the work order or account number
• The property owner's name, phone number, and mailing address
• Your answer about recent violations, and anything you write in the message box

The companies that host this site keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser type, to run the site and keep it secure. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of that request. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To contact you about your request and schedule the inspection
• To perform the inspection and prepare applications, reports, notices, and certificates
• To keep the inspection records that utilities and codes require
• To answer your questions and send confirmations about your request

Who we share it with

We share inspection information only as the work requires:

• The serving electric utility, for service connections and reconnections
• The local code enforcement office for the property's town or village
• The applicant and the property owner
• Service providers that host our website, database, and email, only so they can provide those services to us
• Anyone else when required by law

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for marketing lists.

How long we keep it

Inspection records are kept for at least six years from the date of the inspection report, as utility requirements call for. Requests that don't lead to an inspection are kept only as long as needed for our business records.

How we protect it

Requests are stored in a secured database that only we can access, and are sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your choices

You can ask what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We'll honor deletion requests except for records we're required to keep.

Children

This site is meant for property owners and the electrical trade. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
